PROJECT TITLE: Modeling of Coevolution between Black Holes and Galaxies
PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The BHOLE (Black hole-Host Lifecycle Evolution) project aims to investigate the coevolution between supermassive black holes and galaxies and the physics of AGNs. To achieve this purpose, it is crucial to understand black hole feeding processes from galactic scales, and AGN feedback effects on the evolution of their host galaxies at both low and high redshifts. We seek applicants who will work on theoretical and numerical modeling of AGN feedback, black hole accretion, formation of seed black holes, cosmological coevolution of black holes with their host galaxies, and star formation in galactic nuclear regions. The successful candidate is expected to have expertise in the astrophysics of black holes, accretion disks, galactic nuclei, high-redshift galaxies, and/or in related numerical simulations.
PROJECT REQUIREMENTS: Broad research interests on the physics of black holes; expertise in (cosmological) hydrodynamical simulations desirable.
