Preparing for the SKA

The Square Kilometer Array (SKA) will be the largest radio telescope that has ever been built on earth. It is a joint-venture of more than ten member countries and China is a full member. The SKA is now in the pre-construction phase and the phase1 (SKA1) construction will start from 2018 and completed in 2023. I will give an overview of the SKA project, the Chinese participation, science cases, and China's preparation for the SKA, including the training program for the next generation of Chinese radio astronomers.
