Mini-School of Observations of High-Redshift Galaxies

Formation and evolution of the earliest galaxies is one of the key frontiers of modern astronomy. In this mini-school, we will have a series of lectures presenting how to carry out observational programs to study high-redshift galaxies, discussing what tools are available (ground-based large telescopes, HST, Spitzer, ALMA), how to design a successful program, how to analyze the data, and highlight some of the recent exciting results. We will have lectures presenting theoretical modeling of high-redshift universe. These lectures are aiming at senior undergraduate and graduate students.

Lecturers: Prof. Xiaohui Fan (Arizona/KIAA), Prof. Lixin Li (KIAA), Dr. Ran Wang (Jansky Fellow, NRAO/Ariona), Dr. Dan Stark (Hubble Fellow, Arizona), Dr. Linhua Jiang (Hubble Fellow, ASU)

Place:
KIAA-PKU, Beijing
Time:
Monday, September 3, 2012 - 9:00am to Tuesday, September 4, 2012 - 5:00pm
