Lunar Occultation (LO) is a powerful ground-based technique to achieve angular resolution of the order of a few milli-arcsecond in the optical/near-infrared bands. While other methods (e.g., optical long baseline interferometry) require multiple apertures, dedicated electronics etc., with LO technique such resolution can be achieved even with a single 1-m class telescope. However, it also comes with several other limitations. In this discussion, I shall talk about the LO technique, its limitations and some of the good results that we have achieved using this technique.
