The Milky Way provides us a unique opportunity to study galaxy formation and evolution in unprecedented details. The field has been greatly advanced by surveys like 2MASS and SDSS in recent years, and will be further revolutionized by on-going and up-coming surveys like LAMOST, Gaia and LSST in the near future. In this talk, I will present our work on mapping the stellar populations, structure, kinematics and chemistry of the Galaxy with the LAMOST and SDSS surveys.
