X-raying galactic feedback in nearby disk galaxies

Feedback in galaxies represents the weakest link in our understanding of their formation and evolution. How could X-ray observations help to address this problem? I'd like to share some of the lessons that we have learned recently, regarding to the origins of diffuse soft X-ray emission from nearby disk galaxies, based on both imaging and spectroscopic observations. I will also share a couple of ideas as to how we may make progress in near future.
