The interplay between ionized regions and star formation: recent progresses

I will present the impact of high mass star on their surrounding and show how this impact helps in forming a new generation of stars. I will reprot recent progresses on our understanding of this phenomenon, including results from the Herschel Space Observatory. I will conclude on future perspectives in this research field.
